Grace Currie Magic Artist presents works inspired by her lived experiences, her evolving world view, her challenges and her triumphs.

The artworks often include paintings of Billy the cat, Grace’s husband Johnny, Grace’s relationship with her creative friend The Frog, Grace’s wishes, dreams, frustrations and fantasies.

Grace has developed her practice as a painter, often exploring other traditional and non-traditional art materials to create many layered, textured, expressionistic new artworks.

Over the last year Grace has been evolving a body of large-scale paintings that celebrate the ups and downs of living with ABI (Acquired Brain Injury)/My Funky Brain.

From the perspective of a neurodiverse artist with a funky brain, the paintings are biographical in nature and heighten the complex relationship Grace has with the world around her, the varied relations with family, friends, support workers, pets, food, the studio, the every-day.
